Waveski

Macski is world renowned for it’s waveskis.
We have a range of waveskis to suit every rider.
To select the waveski that is right for you, the most important factor is your weight. To be safe, choose a waveski that can carry at least 10kg more than you weigh. So if you weigh 85kg, then choose a waveski that can carry at least 95kg. If you are looking for more stability than performance, then select the next model up. When selecting a waveski, bear in mind that there is always a trade off between stability and performance – to gain more stability you would have to sacrifice a bit of performance. And conversely, to gain performance you would usually have to sacrifice a bit of stability. Of course, there’s a limit to this – never get a waveski that you cannot balance on – because if you cannot even paddle the ski without falling off every few metres, then it doesn’t matter how good that waveski is on a wave – you’ll never get that far!! When in doubt, go for the bigger waveski.
The second factor to consider is your height. Waveskis have a fixed distance between the seat and the footwells. So it’s important to make sure that you fit comfortably into the waveski. If you are of more or less average height for your weight, then you should have no problem. If in doubt, it is best to sit on the waveski first to make sure you are sitting comfortably. A general rule of thumb is that your knees should be slightly bent when sitting. Your knees should not be excessively bent, and on the other extreme, you should also not be stretching to reach the footwells. In both these cases, a couple of hours on your waveski in the surf could end up being a painful experience. If you find that you are either too tall or too short for a standard production waveski, then you would need to consider a custom hand-shaped waveski – read on.
There is another option when buying a waveski that allows you to get EXACTLY what you want in your waveski – this is the ULTIMATE waveski – a custom hand-shaped waveski.
