Kingfisher Fishing Ski

The MACSKI Kingfisher fishing ski is a serious fishing kayak for the serious fisherman.

Kayak fishing is a very popular and fast growing sport – and with good reason: there is just no better way to enjoy the thrill of fishing than to do it off a fishing kayak. But with so many models available, what makes the Kingfisher the best surf fishing ski on the market today?

1. Stability: the most important thing you want when you are out there fishing, is a stable platform to fish off. Without a decent amount a stability, you are going to be spending more time balancing (or swimming), and less time enjoying. The Kingfisher combines 3 key elements to give you maximum stability: 1. a totally flat bottom deck under the seating area, 2. a deep comfortable seat, 3. just the right amount of width to give stability without sacrificing too much speed.   The combination of these 3 features will give you the stability you need when paddling through the surf or rough water, or when you are moving around the craft to access gear, or fighting the big one. When asked about the stability of his new Kingfisher fishing kayak, one of our 300 lbs (136 kg) customers responded: “Stability? I didn’t even think about that when I was out there.” That’s the answer we like to hear.

2. Speed: there is always a trade-off between speed and stability on a kayak. On a racing kayak, go for speed! On a fishing kayak, stability is paramount!! But you still want to be able to get to your fishing spots as quickly as possible and with the minimum amount of effort. So we have designed the Kingfisher to give great stability, and yet still glide through water with good speed. Test ride a Kingfisher and you’ll be asking yourself: how can a kayak feel so stable, and still go so fast?

3. Comfort: The Kingfisher has a deep comfortable seat and comes with an optional backrest, so not only are you sitting very comfortably while paddling, you can also sit comfortably for hours while fishing.

4. User- friendly: once you have stability, speed and comfort in your fishing kayak, all you really need is for the craft to be user-friendly. To achieve this, the Kingfisher has the following features:

  • A feature that you are going to love is the weight of the Kingfisher. It is super light! And this makes handling a breeze.
  • An easily accessible cutting board right in front of you between your footwells. Kingfisher cockpit
  • Below the cutting board is your tackle tray with dividers for all your odds and ends.
  • A cavernous fish hatch between your legs, long enough to carry your rods, your bait, and all your catch on a good day. Kingfisher fish hatch
  • A dry hatch right behind your seat to stow your dry gear – spare clothing, food, drinks, safety gear, cell phone, etc.
  • A concave forward deck with cargo net for even more stowage space (if you hook a really big one that won’t fit in the fish hatch). Kingfisher cargo net
  • 3 rod holders are standard (any number of rod holders can be fitted as in the photo below) Kingfisher extra rod holders
